Mozilla Firefox Information Disclosure Vulnerability
Mozilla · Firefox
A flaw in Mozilla Firefox (before 21.0 and the Firefox ESR 17.x line before 17.0.6), along with Thunderbird and Thunderbird ESR 17.x before 17.0.6, is that data structures for the nsDOMSVGZoomEvent mPreviousScale and mNewScale functions are not properly initialized. A remote attacker who gets a user to visit a crafted web site can read sensitive information from process memory, and this requires user interaction but no authentication.
Mozilla Firefox before 21.0, Firefox ESR 17.x before 17.0.6, Thunderbird before 17.0.6, and Thunderbird ESR 17.x before 17.0.6 do not properly initialize data structures for the nsDOMSVGZoomEvent::mPreviousScale and nsDOMSVGZoomEvent::mNewScale functions, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information from process memory via a crafted web site.
