Adobe · Flash Player
A heap-based buffer overflow in Adobe Flash Player affects versions before 13.0.0.296, 14.x through 18.x before 18.0.0.194 on Windows and OS X, and versions before 11.2.202.468 on Linux. An attacker who can get a victim to a location serving malicious content can execute arbitrary code, with no authentication, configuration, or additional user interaction required beyond the victim reaching that content.
Heap-based buffer overflow in Adobe Flash Player before 13.0.0.296 and 14.x through 18.x before 18.0.0.194 on Windows and OS X and before 11.2.202.468 on Linux allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via unspecified vectors, as exploited in the wild in June 2015.
First seen exploited the day it was disclosed. Public exploit code (Metasploit) was available the same day.
CISA KEV listing is when exploitation was confirmed, not necessarily the first attack.
This heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability is exploited by having a user open a maliciously-crafted file. In the wild, this exploitation has been used in order to establish command and control (over HTTP) with a target system. The command and control functionality has also been seen to employ debugging/sandboxing evasion.
These come from early or generic mappings, text matching, or contradict this CVE’s details (for example a public-facing technique on a bug that needs a user to open a file). Shown for completeness.
