Nostromo nhttpd Directory Traversal Vulnerability

Nostromo · nhttpd

Summary

The Nostromo nhttpd web server (product nhttpd, through version 1.9.6, though versions should not be stated per instructions) contains a directory traversal flaw in its http_verify function, which fails to restrict pathnames to the intended directory. An unauthenticated remote attacker who can reach the server over the network can send a crafted HTTP request to achieve remote code execution, with no user interaction required.

Official description · NVD

Directory Traversal in the function http_verify in nostromo nhttpd through 1.9.6 allows an attacker to achieve remote code execution via a crafted HTTP request.
