WordPress Social Warfare Plugin Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Vulnerability

WordPress · Social Warfare Plugin

Summary

The Social Warfare plugin for WordPress, in versions before 3.5.3 and affecting both Social Warfare and Social Warfare Pro, contains a stored cross-site scripting flaw in its debug handling of the swp_url parameter at wp-admin/admin-post.php. An attacker with network access can inject script that is stored and later executed in a user's browser, provided a user interacts with the affected content (UI:R) and the attack is reached without authentication (PR:N) and with low attack complexity.

Official description · NVD

The social-warfare plugin before 3.5.3 for WordPress has stored XSS via the wp-admin/admin-post.php?swp_debug=load_options swp_url parameter, as exploited in the wild in March 2019. This affects Social Warfare and Social Warfare Pro.
