Mediatek Multiple Chipsets Insufficient Input Validation Vulnerability

MediaTek · Multiple Chipsets

Summary

The flaw is an insufficient input validation issue in the ioctl handlers of the Command Queue driver in MediaTek's multiple chipsets, affecting the Android kernel, and it allows an out-of-bounds write. An attacker with local access and low privileges can exploit it to escalate privileges without user interaction, since missing SELinux restrictions and inadequate input sanitization are involved and no additional execution privileges are required.

Official description · NVD

In the ioctl handlers of the Mediatek Command Queue driver, there is a possible out of bounds write due to insufficient input sanitization and missing SELinux restrictions. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.Product: AndroidVersions: Android kernelAndroid ID: A-147882143References: M-ALPS04356754
