TP-link TL-WA855RE Missing Authentication for Critical Function Vulnerability
TP-Link · TL-WA855RE
The TP-Link TL-WA855RE V5 (firmware 20200415-rel37464) range extender contains a missing authentication flaw in its critical functionality, which allows a factory reset and reboot to be triggered without credentials. An unauthenticated attacker on the same network can submit a TDDP_RESET POST request, then set a new administrative password, gaining control of the device with no user interaction required.
TP-Link TL-WA855RE V5 20200415-rel37464 devices allow an unauthenticated attacker (on the same network) to submit a TDDP_RESET POST request for a factory reset and reboot. The attacker can then obtain incorrect access control by setting a new administrative password.
