Samsung Mobile Devices Out-of-Bounds Read Vulnerability

Samsung · Mobile Devices

Summary

An out-of-bounds read flaw exists in the set_skb_priv() function of the modem interface driver in Samsung Mobile Devices, where a buffer is not boundary-checked in releases prior to SMR Oct-2021 Release 1. A local attacker with low privileges and no user interaction can exploit it to read memory out of bounds and achieve arbitrary code execution by dereferencing an invalid function pointer.

Official description · NVD

Lack of boundary checking of a buffer in set_skb_priv() of modem interface driver prior to SMR Oct-2021 Release 1 allows OOB read and it results in arbitrary code execution by dereference of invalid function pointer.
