Cisco Small Business RV Series Routers Stack-based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Cisco · Small Business RV160, RV260, RV340, and RV345 Series Routers
Cisco Small Business RV160, RV260, RV340, and RV345 Series Routers contain a stack-based buffer overflow flaw, alongside related certificate and signature verification weaknesses, in their firmware. An attacker on an adjacent network who can get a user to interact with the device can exploit these to execute arbitrary code, elevate privileges, bypass authentication, run unsigned software, or cause a denial of service, without needing prior credentials.
Multiple vulnerabilities in Cisco Small Business RV160, RV260, RV340, and RV345 Series Routers could allow an attacker to do any of the following: Execute arbitrary code Elevate privileges Execute arbitrary commands Bypass authentication and authorization protections Fetch and run unsigned software Cause denial of service (DoS) For more information about these vulnerabilities, see the Details section of this advisory.

This Digital Signature Verification Bypass vulnerability is exploited by an unauthenticated, local attacker. The attacker exploits an improper verification of software images that could allow the attacker to install and boot malicious images or execute unsigned binaries.
