Zoho ManageEngine ADSelfService Plus Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

Zoho · ManageEngine

Summary

The flaw lies in the policy custom script feature of Zoho ManageEngine ADSelfService Plus, in builds before 6122, and allows arbitrary operating system commands to run as SYSTEM. An attacker with network access can reach it by authenticating as an administrator (a default administrator password may make this easy to obtain), or, in a separate path, by injecting commands through an unsanitized password field when only partially authenticated, with the exploit possibly requiring a user to interact with the product.

Official description · NVD

Zoho ManageEngine ADSelfService Plus before build 6122 allows a remote authenticated administrator to execute arbitrary operating OS commands as SYSTEM via the policy custom script feature. Due to the use of a default administrator password, attackers may be able to abuse this functionality with minimal effort. Additionally, a remote and partially authenticated attacker may be able to inject arbitrary commands into the custom script due to an unsanitized password field.
