Zyxel Multiple NAS Devices Command Injection Vulnerability

Zyxel · Multiple Network-Attached Storage (NAS) Devices

Summary

Zyxel's NAS326, NAS540, and NAS542 network-attached storage devices contain a command injection flaw in their firmware, which mishandles special characters passed to OS commands. An unauthenticated attacker who can reach the device over the network can send a crafted HTTP request to run operating system commands remotely, without needing a user to interact with the device.

Official description · NVD

The pre-authentication command injection vulnerability in the Zyxel NAS326 firmware versions prior to V5.21(AAZF.14)C0, NAS540 firmware versions prior to V5.21(AATB.11)C0, and NAS542 firmware versions prior to V5.21(ABAG.11)C0 could allow an unauthenticated attacker to execute some operating system (OS) commands remotely by sending a crafted HTTP request.
