“Bringing Access Back — Initial Access Brokers Exploit F5 BIG-IP (CVE-2023-46747) and ScreenConnect”
F5 · BIG-IP Configuration Utility
The F5 BIG-IP Configuration Utility contains an authentication bypass flaw, classified as missing authentication for critical functionality, that exposes the product's management interface. An attacker with network access to the BIG-IP system via the management port and/or self IP addresses can send undisclosed requests that bypass configuration utility authentication and execute arbitrary system commands, with no authentication or user interaction required.
Undisclosed requests may bypass configuration utility authentication, allowing an attacker with network access to the BIG-IP system through the management port and/or self IP addresses to execute arbitrary system commands. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated
First seen exploited 5 days after disclosure. Public exploit code (Metasploit) was available the same day.
CISA KEV listing is when exploitation was confirmed, not necessarily the first attack.
