Google Chromium V8 Improper Restriction of Operations Within the Bounds of a Memory Buffer Vulnerability

Google · Chromium V8

Summary

A memory-safety flaw in the V8 JavaScript engine in Google Chromium (Chrome) lets code run in the wrong context, classified under improper restriction of operations within a memory buffer and improper control of code generation. An attacker who can get a victim to open a crafted HTML page, with no authentication required but user interaction needed, can execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox; affected builds are those prior to 146.0.7680.75.

Official description · NVD

Inappropriate implementation in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 146.0.7680.75 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside a sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High)
