WordPress · Core
A route confusion flaw in WordPress Core's REST API batch endpoint, affecting the 6.9.x and 7.0.x release branches before their fixed versions, is what lets this issue be leveraged. An unauthenticated remote attacker, requiring no user interaction and using only network access, could chain it with a separate SQL injection in the author__not_in WP_Query parameter to run SQL injection and potentially achieve remote code execution.
WordPress 6.9.x before 6.9.5 and 7.0.x before 7.0.2 is affected by a REST API batch endpoint route confusion issue which, combined with the author__not_in WP_Query SQL Injection (CVE-2026-60137), could allow an attacker to perform SQL Injection and achieve Remote Code Execution.
First seen exploited the day it was disclosed. Public exploit code (PoC-in-GitHub) was available the same day.
CISA KEV listing is when exploitation was confirmed, not necessarily the first attack.
